bastardkeaton:

Take a look at this guy. He had some serious personal style. The attitude he’s giving, the hat cocked to the side,  the way he’s standing, and the suit and tie combination he chose all convey a big sense of personal style.
And this is exactly what’s wrong with males today. They have no personal sense of style. Sure, some have “style,” or what may be defined as such by the public at large, but they have no idea how to add personal touches to it and dress how they’re told to by magazines, television, and celebrities.
Having style means wearing and mixing in what looks good to YOU, not what society tells you looks good. Dress pants bunching up at your feet because they’re too long with a shirt blousing way over your belt and a tie that hangs down to your crotch is not style; that’s dressing how other males around you dress because a.) they don’t know any better, and b.) you want to fit in as much as possible. “Dressing up” doesn’t mean throwing on ill-fitting clothing just because it’s “dressy.”
So please, guys, develop some sense of personal style. It doesn’t make you homosexual, vain, or “girly.” It makes you more masculine, more independent, and more confident. My Dad always used to tell me to “be your own man,” and by god that’s how we should all live.
